How do I apply for my child to go to camp?
Once bookings open you can book campers via mcyc.online/apply – fill in the form online and chose how to pay. A sibling discount of £20 is available for each additional camper from the same family – this is applied automatically when bookings are completed at the same time and can be applied later if bookings are completed separately if you email us to let us know.
How do I book if I’m not online?
We would encourage Church Links to assist in this case by meeting with the parent/carer and completing the online form.
My child has additional needs, can they still come?
Absolutely! We have a section on our booking form so you can highlight any additional support needs your child may require; please include any pertinent information here. We will then be able to speak to you about how we may meet these at a week of camp.
How do I pay for camp?
When booking you can choose to pay in full, pay the deposit and 1 payment or pay the deposit and 5 payments*. This added flexibility we hope will make paying for camp easier. If you book a camper in before the early bird deadline then they are eligible for the Early Bird price but after this date pay full price. The booking and deposit must be paid before the early bird window closes – the remaining fee can be paid later.
The latest costs and early bird window dates are found here.
*If there are less than 5 months between the booking date and camp starting the number of payments will be reduced accordingly.
What if I can’t afford the fees for camp?
There are several options available in this situation – if your church is able to help with a child’s fees then this is really helpful. MCYC has a limited bursary fund available, which we use to enable campers and staff to attend where they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it, you can apply for this here: mcyc.online/bursary. Another option is to break down payments into smaller and more manageable amounts using the 5 payments option. Some Church Links are willing to support by collecting the money regularly from parents/carers and then making the final single payment on their behalf once the full amount is collected. If you have other questions about making payments, please email invoices@mcyc.online
Who will my child share a room/tent with or be in a group with?
As part of your booking, you will be asked if your child would like to share a tent/room or be in a group with anyone else – you can list the names of any friends that are/may be coming to the same week of camp as your child, and the admin team will do their best to accommodate this. You can also make changes to this later by emailing camper-applications@mcyc.online
How will my child get to camp?
Coaches to and from camp are provided as part of the cost of camp. Once we have numbers from each region, usually nearing the start of the week of camp, pick-up point locations are decided and are sent out as part of your booking information. Campers can choose their nearest pick-up from Chester, Eirias Park, Liverpool and Wirral; however, we cannot guarantee a coach will stop at all of these points and some campers will be allocated the next nearest option; this is camper and leader numbers dependent and to ensure we meet our safeguarding commitments.
Will my child need spending money?
Your child will need to bring some spending money to camp. There is a shop, where sweets and drinks can be purchased, as well as MCYC merchandise. Some additional money may also be needed for optional activities during the week, but you will be informed about these options in advance of the week, and there will always be an option that doesn’t incur any additional cost.
