How to apply to be a leader at MCYC
Whether you’re going as a group leader, are volunteering to help out in the kitchen, or have been invited to be on admin, you’re in the right place.
MCYC takes its responsibility to ensure young people have an exceptional and safe experience at camp very seriously. As such our leader vetting process is carried out online to ensure all the relevant criteria are fulfilled prior to applying to go to camp.
To apply to be a leader you will need to Register for a “My MCYC Account” to allow you to undertake the following
- Have a DBS check (at least every 3 years)
- Undertake and provide evidence of Safeguarding Training (at least every 3 years)
- Provide 2 referees (one church and one employment / personal must be provided annually)
- Upload a photograph to be used on your ID badge
- Confirm you agree with the EA Statement of Faith
As a Christian organisation there are posts which can only be filled by Christians. All volunteers at a week of MCYC are expected to be involved in daily worship, teaching the Christian faith, and prayer. The nature of these posts or the context in which they are carried and their link to the ethos of the organisation give rise to a genuine occupational requirement for the postholders to be Christians. All staff in these posts are required to demonstrate a clear, personal commitment to the Christian faith.
Once the above criteria have been confirmed you will be able to apply to your preferred week of camp via the link in My MCYC.
